In this lesson, students will be immersed in, and connect with 2040, focusing on the topics of transport and liveability. Students begin by participating in a warm-up activity around their personal transport use before investigating liveability and the factors of liveability that are important to them. They then participate in a THINK PAIR SHARE routine and a role-play activity to explore transport in terms of liveability and our environment. Students then think about how future transport could be designed to improve liveability.

Students will explore their understanding of liveability and think about how energy and our environment relate to liveability. They will work collaboratively to conduct research into the impacts of fossil fuels on our environment before participating in a guided discussion around a sustainable energy case study. Students will then work in groups to compare electricity produced from coal and solar, and produce a report that summarises the results of their assessment.
